St. Francis College Otukpo operates a House system and upon admission into the college, each student is assigned to one of the 4 Houses. Each House has its own House Master and the idea behind our House system is to teach the students teamwork and breed camaraderie amongst the students during their journey through the college.

The role of the House Master is to be the focal point for students in the same House and to be readily available to provide guidance and directions to members of his House.

The 4 Houses at St. Francis College are:

  1. St. Louis
  2. St. Joseph
  3. St. John
  4. St. Anthony

Each student is expected to take part in the annual inter-House competitions. These competitions range from sporting events to quizzes. The House system fosters a sense of togetherness amongst the students as senior students usually take younger students in their Houses under their wings and mentor these students.

This form of responsibility teaches the senior students how to care for others and for the junior students it gives them the confidence to interact with people older than them. In summary, the House system provides excellent opportunities for students of different ages to come together as one big family.
