St. Francis College Otukpo performed excellently at the 2023 Idoma National Educational Advocacy Foundation (INEF) All Benue Zone C Secondary Schools Quiz Competition, held at Leach Hotels, GRA, Otukpo on 26th October 2023, narrowly coming second to St Paul's Secondary School Odugbeho in Agatu Local Government Area, while Eagle Life Citadel of Learning Otukpo came in third.
Two brilliant boys, Princewill Ejembi and Joseph Ejiga, represented the college, and were ably supported by their English Language tutor, Mrs Maria Ochoche, who is also the Head of Department of Arts.
The focus areas of the quiz competition which featured seventeen (17) secondary schools from all around Idomaland (Benue Zone C), were the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Citizenship Education and Covid-19 pandemic. The organisers of the competition, INEF, believe that the quiz competition aligns with their objectives which are:
- Revamp education in Idomaland.
- Provide scholarships to indigent students.
- Provide research, innovation and leadership mentorship to students.
- Support NGOs working in the educational section in Idomaland.
For coming second in the competition, the college received a cheque of ₦200,000 while Masters Ejembi and Ejiga also got a cheque of ₦25,000 in addition to their school fees for the first term of the 2023/24 academic session being paid. Speaking after the competition, Master Ejembi commended INEF for providing young students like with this opportunity, saying it shows that the country has hope and it can change.

Ejembi also expressed his gratitude to INEF for looking out for less privileged students and recognising that despite their background, they can excel academically.
