Founded in 1944, St Francis College Otukpo is the oldest Catholic secondary school in Benue State. The college is an all boys' school which strives to provide a welcoming and supportive environment to every boy in the college, so that they can realise their potentials.
The crest of the college shows a variant of the Franciscan symbol of two arms, which represents the arm of our Lord Jesus Christ and the arm of our patron saint, St Francis of Assisi. The significance of these arms is to highlight that following the ways of Jesus Christ is the most important thing in this world.
The motto of the college is Deus Meus et Omnia, which is Latin for My God and My All!. This motto aptly summarises the message the college aims to give her young students; that without our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we are nothing in this life.
Aside from tutoring students in academics, the college also provides opportunities for different extra-curricular activities to enable the boys have a well rounded education to prepare them for life after college. Students of the college are grouped into one of the 4 Houses in the college and these are St. Louis, St. Joseph, St. John and St. Anthony.
The college is located in a massive complex in Eupi area of Otukpo Town and within this complex, there is St. Francis Cathedral Church, St. Francis Primary School as well as St. Francis College.
